She had to step up and become a protective mother figure to her younger siblings. ❝ Born atop the mountains of the Skatay Range, a fairly new village was created, and there is where Raeli Arda was born. Now known as Kore, Raeli was one of the first kit born to this village, a beam of hope for them. As she grew older, Raeli was more sensitive to the flora and fauna around her. This caused the village elder to take interest and would take her under her wing, training her in healing magicks and geomancy. She spent countless winters perfecting her craft. The elder becoming almost a second mother to her. Raeli was revered as a new start for her generation.It was not too long before Raeli was greeted by two new family members. Her mother gave birth to twins, Lasaren and Lalvarn. Aside from their ear shape and length, they looked impossible to tell apart. The twins shared their mother's physical features and their father's curiousity and sense of adventure. As soon as they were able to walk, they were trouble, but Raeli loved them despite it all. They would wander out dangerously close to the edge of their village, gathering various herbs and small materials for their older sister to use during her training. Lasaren had impeciable hearing and would warn Lalvarn about incoming adults as they searched for items to harvest. Despite the constant warning of the dangers that laid beyond the village and reminders of the Green Word, Lasaren and Lalvarn would continue bringing back gifts of the wild to their loved ones.

It was during one of the harshest winters that Raeli's life would change. Rael was instructed to stay healing and tending those displaced by the harsh snow. Her mother and siblings visiting every day to check and cheer on Raeli for her hard work. It happened quietly, news carried by the whispers of the recovering injured. When her mentor abruptly left her seat after another shaman whispered in their ear with a wicked smile. When Raeli's mother came to visit moments later, she was somber and quiet, refusing to answer Raeli about the whereabouts of the twins. She quietly rushed the healing on her current patient before excusing herself, ignoring the older shamans attempting to drag her back into the hut.The elder, Raeli's mentor, stood at the edge of the village before her siblings. Lasaren helping an unfamiliar Viera while Lalvarn pleaded their case. Unmoved, she sent the twins away and two Wood Warders took the grown Viera away. Raeli walked back into the hut packing a pack of everything she could fit before she marched past her, now, former mentor and took the hands of her siblings. They looked back, only seeing the backs of their village to them.Four years later, a group of three Vieras would land in Gridania with only the clothes on their back and a tattered backpack slung across the tallest's back.

Everything That Has Happened

The Viera siblings wasted no time leaving their village. Tears were a daily guarantee for the first few years of their travel. Kore struggled and scammed often to make sure her siblings were always well fed and had everything they need to grow. They spent two years doing odd jobs in Othard before they spent another two in Kugane to learn about the other continents. They continued working before they finally had enough to purchase three one way tickets to Eorzea. On the ride to Eorzea is when they decided to drop their birth names and take on new ones, leaving everything back in Othard. When they landed in Thanalan, they quickly found out that they were not made for extreme heat. In the end, they spent a year finding a place to settle before the decided to call the shade of the Black Shroud home.

Everything That is Happening

Kore lived peacefully in the Shroud of three years. She encouraged her siblings to pick up a weapon while Kore had decided to look in conjury. Mother Miounne had suggested the Conjurer's Guild since she had set foot in Gridania but Kore had put it off feeling as if it was too close to her role back in the village. When she finally decided to give it a try, she had a bit of a learning curve with the vocabulary but regardless took rather quickly to the magick.Within a year of her learning conjury, she was roped into a series of odd adventurers with even weirder adventurers. She would join the groups on the grounds that they would allow her sister and brother to join and guarantee their safety.

Everything That Will Happen

Through the span of several years, Kore will be framed as a murderer of an important city-state representative, go on the run, meet new friends and lose some old ones, and stop a war. She will also join another fight on the side of the rebellion, revisit her old home, find a new found love of combat through unlikely source, learn to move on, and help rebuild different communities in the aftermath of war. Kore will be transported into a shard where the moon never seems to rise, experience the horrors™, learn to lean on her friends and cherish them while they help bring back the night sky. And in less than a year after those experience she will have to figure out how to save Etheirys and all its inhabitants amongst fighting gods and a long standing empire.

▍ ❝   Looking for Work

For a pretty coin, Kore will take on most jobs to work as a support and healer. If the coin purse was heavy enough, she would even be known to take longer and more demanding missions. Whether you need someone to protect you from your dubious past and poor life choices, or simply need to be escorted from point a to point b; for the right price, Kore will make sure that job gets done.

While the tribe that raised her was solitary, it did not mean Kore was. She would accompany her mentor to various meetings between the two neighboring tribes and was a lively and common face her own village. Maybe there are others from the peaks of the mountain that escaped and she never knew.

Under no circumstances do I tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia, or really any sort of bigotry. This is not negotiable.

I am not my character and you are not yours. I am not interested in blurring any lines between fiction and irl. And I will not tolerate any pressure or attempt of coercion to change that.
